Shake Up Your Summer WorkoutWith These Fun Fitness Classes

Happy Fitness Friday! As a wedding planner, my summer months are often spent on the go. I don’t have a lot of time to plan out what I want to do for exercising so I often find myself joining classes when I can to get a good workout without having to think about it too much! I don’t have to do any pre planning, just show up at a certain time and sweat it out! So, for this Fitness Friday I decided that I would provide a list of wonderful classes that you can take if you want to switch up your workout routine a bit this summer!



This class is for those who love running and want to add in strength training to their workout. With this class you run along a 2 mile course in Central Park with stops along iconic locations to add in strength-training exercises (push-ups, stair climbing drills, and more). They meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 am and charge $40. Click the title above to book your class!

This is a yoga class held in Bryant Park every Thursday from 6:00-7:00 pm. It gives you the chance to work out those yoga poses in the outdoors and sweat in a beautiful park. The best part is that it is free! All ages and skill levels are welcome at this class. Click the title above to view more event details.

This set of classes are dedicated to the early-birds out there. This outdoor fitness company holds its classes Monday through Friday at 6:30 am. They have their Monday “HIIT” workout, on Tuesday you can choose between their “Brooklyn Body Circuit” and “Queen’s Warrior” workout, on Wednesday’s they have their “Core Body Boot Camp”, on Thursday you can choose between the “King of Queens” workout or the “Flatiron: Form & Flow” workout, and finally on Friday’s they have their “#Hills” running workout. This fun, intense workout class uses your own body weight, the bridge structures, benches, and resistance bands to help lift that butt, tone your arms, and define your abs. This workout promises to burn up to 800 calories per hour and push you like you’ve never been pushed before. These workouts occur every Saturday at 8:00 am and cost $15 per session. Join others every Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the Riverside Park’s Plaza at 66th Street to take a pilates class with Melissa Ricci from Base Fitness. Through this class you will strengthen your core and align your body to create balance, strength and flexibility. You can do all this while watching the sunset and enjoying the beautiful scenery that the Riverside Park provides. The best part is that it is completely free!
